5. Introduction to Dreams - Dreams

This forewarning dream is from 7/18/02 and was written in my Daytimer planner page dated 7/19/02 which I have included a copy of in this post. The dream was about something bad that was about to happen due to mans’ negligence or wrongdoing. A dream like this has a feeling of impending doom and sadness as it plays out in my mind. These dreams that are forewarnings, are very easy to tell apart from all the rest that are not.

I was shown a big field of green grass with many black and white dairy cows standing in the field slowly grazing. The grass had beautiful little dew drops on the blades like it would in the morning and was a beautiful, healthy looking fresh green color. Then I was close to one of the cows like I was standing right next to it. The cow slowly lifted its head and looked at me as it slowly chewed the grass. It was as if the cow saw me but knew me, so it was not afraid of me at all.

I grew up in the country and have seen various dairies all over the U.S. so I know what normal cows should look like. This cow had rotting, multiple ulcer looking sores on its face. Something was terribly wrong with this cow now that I am seeing it very carefully close-up. I also had a strong feeling that man was entirely to blame for this and it would be known when this comes to light. Then the dream changed to something else. (Often in dreams things are exaggerated to get the point across. If the cows looked normal as they probably actually did in real life, it would not have been obvious that there was something very wrong with them internally. The sores were a way for me to know something was diseased with the cows. And dreams are mostly very symbolic in nature.)

Later that day I saw on the news online that 18 million pounds of contaminated meat were recalled by the Agricultural Department on behalf of the Con Agra Beef Company of Greely Colorado. It stated 19 million pounds of meat was produced between April 12 and July 11. They found it to be the source of Ecoli. So sad. These types of stories are more common these days, but back in 2002, they were very rare.
