Metaphysical Books
The first Metaphysical book I would like to mention is Reflections on a Mountain Lake by Ani Tenzin Palmo. I’ve included a copy of the first page, which is numbered page 2. I was really blown away with this page because I’ve never read before how someone grew up in a house where the furniture was floating in the room. My Grandmother was a Spiritualist and she too, along with my Mother and her sisters, my three Aunts, lifted a table once in front of a large group of guests as a demonstration of her (their) abilities.
Of course, for most people, this is taboo to talk about, but it was so terrifying to me as a young girl of about 4, that I never forgot it. My Mom still remembers it too and she is 82 years old today. She remembers it because she didn’t like participating in things like that. The table they made lift about 2 feet off the ground was made from just two very large pieces of very old, huge trees.
The flat, round top was about 5 feet in diameter and a single cut of wood from a tree trunk with the rings showing. The bottom was one large piece too. Together they must have weighed many hundreds of pounds. The five women stood all around the outer edge and laid their hands very lightly, palms down on the table. My Grandmother said to lift the table, and it just started to lift straight up in the air.
Then my Grandmother told me to crawl around under it as it rose higher and higher and move my hands and arms back and forth under it all to show there were no strings or ropes or anything attached to it other than just their hands at the edge on the top. As it rose higher and higher, I crawled under and back and forth and moved my hands and arms under all of it. I was afraid because I knew it would kill me if it fell on me. They didn't do things like that very often and it scared me so much I never forgot it.
After I moved away from underneath the table, they slowly lowered it back down to the ground. Everyone else in the room was flabbergasted. Gasping and silent. My Mom and Aunts just looked at each other as they walked away like, thank God that was over. They didn't like playing with things like that because it was dangerous. Our abilities are never supposed to be used for amusement or to make a spectacle of ourself.
That was the only time I saw them do that because only my Grandmother believed in showing off like that. The rest of us considered things like that to be black magic and very dangerous. We have never wanted to play with fire like that. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
My Grandmother loved to show off her power to people. She bragged that people drove from very far away just to talk to her for a few minutes. She was very well known in Southern California and very wealthy. Please leave a comment of what this post means to you.
